Hey There!

SO WHAT EXACTLY  IS GWG?

LET US TELL YOU!

GWG conduct workshops to empower and educate teenage girls to live their life to it’s fullest potential. At Girls Who Glow we explore a range of pillars to help build a healthy and happy foundation; nutrition, exercise, healthy social media, positive body-image and self-esteem, navigating toxic relationships, and mental well-being. We strive to equip teens with the tools and confidence they need to navigate these, at times, extremely challenging but formative years.
Girls Who Glow has spent the past 5 years…
Fostering connection, vulnerability and strength.
Inspiring and motivating teens to be and feel their best.
Being a safe place and a ‘big sister’.
Helping thousands of teens across Australia find their ‘glow’!

WHY GWG EXIST?

During our years on TV (Saturday Disney, ABC3 and The Loop), we were inundated with messages concerning well-being. Issues including; eating disorders, mental illness, stress, study, work-life balance and more. We decided to combine our studies in the health industry (Psychology, Health Coaching and Nutrition), contacts in media, our demographics, and genuine passion to help others. With that... Girls Who Glow was born!
Since launching in 2017, we are proud to have successfully rolled out over 30 workshops, connecting with, and helping thousands of females across Australia find their ‘glow'. But there is still so much more to be done…
The mental health of young Australians has worsened since the start of the pandemic, 52% reporting 'declining mental health' (Australia Talks National Survey 2021). Young women in particular (12-14 year olds) have reported a lowered ability to cope with the stressors in their daily lives.
Not to mention, with the rise of social media comes over-stimulation, comparison, unrealistic expectations, lowered self-esteem, social isolation, cyber-bullying, and mental fatigue. Girls Who Glow wants to be the big sister who can support and provide strategies on how to use this cyber-beast in a more constructive, positive and safe way.

We believe, that in 2022, there has never been a more crucial time for Girls Who Glow.

MEET THE FOUNDERS

Liv Phyland

Hi I’m Teigs! For the most part I am a TV Presenter, content creator, MC and fur mamma. I absolutely love what I do and have been able to travel the globe working on numerous TV shows like Saturday Disney, Sydney Weekender, Roads Less Travelled and partner with some of the biggest global brands; there was always a desire to do something that fed my soul and helped others.

Our passion project Girls Who Glow was born. We want to help teens find that inner and outer glow, while life isn’t always sunshine and rainbows we have found that harmony in our lives where we blend work and play. When I am not working you’ll find me in the ocean, on hikes, with my dogs or recharging at home; we want you to know that you can find that balance in your lives too. Life should be fun!

Whether she’s surfing, singing, or dancing like there’s nobody watching, Liv Phyland has energy to burn. She’s the television presenter with a fresh face with a cheeky sense of humour and her genuine lust for life is addictive. Liv’s television debut was in 2011, when she became the host of ABC3’s flagship show Studio3. In 2015 Liv made the jump from ABC to host Eleven’s music show The Loop (Network 10), alongside Scott Tweedie. Indulging in her love for all things lifestyle and adventure, she has also appeared in her own show Liv on the Edge, and her adventure web series Letting Go. In 2019 Liv worked with Discover Japan to create the series Discover Japan: Okinawa with Liv Phyland. She also co-hosted two specials for the newly created Network Ten platform 10 Travlr for Air New Zealand and Tourism NZ.  Liv has MC’d events such as the Fun4Kids festival, Cyber Safety Summit, St Kilda Festival, ARIA’s Red Carpet, The Retailer Awards and Tropfest.
